Baldur, also spelled Balder or Baldur, is a prominent god in Norse mythology, known for his beauty, wisdom, and benevolence. He is the son of the chief god Odin and the goddess Frigg, making him part of the Aesir, the primary pantheon of Norse deities. Baldur is often associated with light, purity, and the summer sun, embodying the concept of flawless goodness. His death is a central mythological event, which is foretold to bring about the beginning of the end, or Ragnarok.
